Hey, I'm Nana and have a passion for nature and art. 

Engaging myself with nature and enjoying its diversity gives me a sense of peace and belonging. I imagine most people feel the same, and I hope that my artwork can bolster these feelings. The experience of calm and clarity that comes with spending time in the wild evokes love for nature. And you protect what you love - something that matters more than ever these days. 

Always keeping the bird center stage and setting aside the background, some would describe my paintings as quite minimalistic but soothing at the same time. I use watercolours to capture the character of the bird, rather than working too realistically. Besides birds, I paint and draw plants, fungi, insects and whatever subject from nature I find too beautiful not to paint.

Hey, ich bin Nana!

Mich mit der Natur auseinanderzusetzen gibt mir Ruhe und ein Gefühl der Zugehörigkeit. Ich denke, es geht den meisten so und ich hoffe, dass meine Bilder diese Gefühle unterstützen. Die Erfahrung des Friedens und der Klarheit, die sich einstellen, wenn man Zeit in der Wildnis verbringt, können eine tiefe Liebe zur Natur hervorrufen. Und man beschützt, was man liebt! Etwas, was heute wichtiger ist denn je.  

In meinen Bildern gehört die Bühne einzig dem Vogel und der Hintergrund wird vernachlässigt. Manche bezeichnen meine Bilder daher als minimalistisch und beruhigend zugleich. Ich verwende Aquarellfarben, um den Charakter des Vogels darzustellen und arbeite dabei nicht zu realistisch. Außer Vögeln male ich Pflanzen, Pilze, Insekten und jedes Naturmotiv, das ich zu schön finde, um es nicht zu malen.
